The Independent Directorate of the Local Governance (IDLG) said on Saturday that the Afghan government has appointed new governors for five different provinces of the country.

The statement further adds that a number of the existing provincial governors have simply been transferred to the other provinces.
According to IDLG, Abdul Latif Ibrahimi has been appointed as the new governor of Samangan province to replace Abdul Karim Khedam.
